Thanks for this. I turned off spell and grammar check today, so that I can write without the continuous interruptions. Yes, I'll turn it back on and my screen will look like a Christmas tree all lit up. But after reading this, perhaps I'll preserve a little more of my real voice. I'm not sure about sentence length, though. My speech tends to run in long sentences. But my AI "editor" thinks I should write like Hemingway. Do the long sentences have to go?
Longer sentences are fine - if they keep the reader reading. Read them out loud. If they are hard to understand, maybe there's two or more there.
